Quick Homemade Chili Oil

INGREDIENTS
1 tsp Chinese five spice
6 tbsp garlic minced
1/8c dried Thai chili pepper powder
1 tbsp crushed red pepper flake
1 tbsp sugar
Heavy Glass or heatproof jar
1.5 c vegetable oil
1 cinnamon stick
1 star anise
1 tbsp black peppercorns
DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan fry toast cinnamon stick, star anise and peppercorns on medium heat for 2 minutes
Place spices in the jar
Add garlic and chili flakes to jar
Heat oil. Do not let it smoke. On high about 4 minutes.
Carefully pour oil into a jar
Use a chopstick to carefully give it a quick stir. Add the remaining ingredients into a jar. Stir. Do not cover, allow to cool. Store covered in fridge
