Mini Donuts

Mini Donuts

Extremely light and fluffy, without any yeast or rise time! These donuts are made almost as quickly as they are devoured.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract -or- 1 tsp vanilla bean

  • 3/4 cup sugar (for coating)

  • 1 + 1/2 tbsp cinnamon (for coating)

  • 5 cups oil (for frying)

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 cup flour

  • 3 tbsp sugar

  • 5 tsp baking powder

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oil in deep pot to approximately 350°

  2. Combine dry ingredients

  3. Add wet ingredients and mix vigorously until dough forms

    1. Tip: use a cookie scoop for best results. 1.2 inch scoop is idea but larger is also fine

  4. Drop dough into hot oil with scoop

  5. Adjust cooking time accordingly, as donuts will expand when dropped in oil

  6. Fry and flip for approximately 90-120 seconds

  7. Place on paper towel or wire rack

  8. Drop the next batch into the oil

  9. While those are frying, put the drained batch into the sugar and cinnamon mixture and toss quickly

  10. Repeat until all dough has been fried

  11. Enjoy hot and fresh!
