Butter Cookies

These classic cookies are simple yet addicting. Store them in a ziplock bag or airtight container to retain their chewy texture and rich buttery flavor. We doubt they’ll last long enough for storage though!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1.5 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda must be fresh!

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine dry ingredients in one bowl set aside

  2. In a stand mixer or using an electric hand mixer, cream butter and sugars until light, fluffy and smooth

  3. Beat in vanilla

  4. Best in eggs 1 at a time

  5. On low, beat in dry mixture 1/3 at a time

  6. Scrape the edges of the bowl cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes

  7. Preheat oven to 375°

  8. Using a cookie scoop, drop 1.5” balls onto a lined tray. Gently press down on the center to flatten out to 2”

  9. Bake for 9-11 minutes depending on your oven

  10. Remove and place on cooling rack immediately
