Korean-Style Air Fried Tofu

Korean-Style Air Fried Tofu

Inspired by the popular Korean dish Tteokbokki. The smooth sauce has the perfect amount of heat. Great for a meatless meal or as an amazing starter!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) -or- cayenne

  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)

  • 1 package firm tofu

  • 1 + 1/4 cup chicken stock -or- stock of your choice

  • 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)

  • 2 tbsp sugar

DIRECTIONS

  • Cut tofu into cubes

  • Toss tofu in 1 tbsp oil or spray with oil

  • Air fry tofu at 390° for 12 minutes. Giving it a shake half way. Should be a light golden brown with a soft center

  • In a skillet or saucepan, combine the remainder of the ingredients, except sesame seeds

  • Bring to boil. Then reduce to medium-low heat until sauce thickens

  • Pour sauce over fried tofu and garnish with sesame seeds and scallions
