Korean-Style Air Fried Tofu
Inspired by the popular Korean dish Tteokbokki. The smooth sauce has the perfect amount of heat. Great for a meatless meal or as an amazing starter!
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) -or- cayenne
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)
1 package firm tofu
1 + 1/4 cup chicken stock -or- stock of your choice
3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
2 tbsp sugar
DIRECTIONS
Cut tofu into cubes
Toss tofu in 1 tbsp oil or spray with oil
Air fry tofu at 390° for 12 minutes. Giving it a shake half way. Should be a light golden brown with a soft center
In a skillet or saucepan, combine the remainder of the ingredients, except sesame seeds
Bring to boil. Then reduce to medium-low heat until sauce thickens
Pour sauce over fried tofu and garnish with sesame seeds and scallions
